Kalithea is on the east coast of Rhodes, just 7 miles from the airport. Kallithea is conveniently situated between Rhodes Town 4 miles to the north and Faliraki 3 miles to the south. Kalithea is a growing resort originally based around a thermal spa built by the Italians. The mix of palm trees and 1920´s mock Moorish architecture found here is a favourite location for fashion photography. Kalithea offers pleasant small bays and laid-back nightlife and a quieter base from which to enjoy the resorts of Rhodes town and Faliraki resort.
Kalithea set around a small bay backed by scenic hilly countryside. Thea beach is a good stretch of sand and shingle offering plenty of facilities and watersports. Kalithea ise particularly popular for scuba divers who enjoy the especially crystal-clear waters found in the quiet small sheltered coves around the bay. Kallithea nightlife is relatively low-key with a selection of bars and restaurants and a disco. A huge range of restaurants, shopping and nightlife options are available at Rhodes town and Faliraki.
Tthe attractions of the two famous resorts of Rhodes Town and Faliraki, both of which can be reached easily by regular buses, taxi or even on foot. Faliraki is a twenty minute walk away and is renowned for its party atmosphere. Popular Kalithea excursions include island tours, boat trips to the island of Symi and even a trip to Turkey. Practically anywhere on Rhodes can be reached from the Town.
